Youth Fencing

Many youth find fencing to be their ideal sport. They may be drawn to it by fantasies of pirates or musketeers, but they discover a reality of challenge and excitement. Fencing can burn off a lot of energy but promotes self control, discipline, and focus. Success does not depend on strength, size, or raw speed. Fencing develops balance, coordination, timing, and use of skill. Club classes and practice provide team spirit and comradery.

Teen and Adult Fencing

Whether you are inspired by the Olympics, fascinated by the history of swords, craving a physical and mental challenge, or just wanting a fun way to get a workout, fencing is looking for you. Originating from practice for sword fights, the modern sport involves athletic moves and strategic thinking. Like the martial arts, fencing involves one-on-one competition, defending your own body from attacks and out-witting your opponent. The fast-paced changes in speed and direction resemble HIIT, and the precise movements call for agility and balance. With each bout presenting new challenges, fencing is an excellent life-time sport.
